Reading Corner

One side of our living room is arranged for reading, with an armchair and assorted other small furniture.

I haven’t been happy with the exact selection or arrangement, though. Furthermore, the rug pad is too big, so I just folded it under. That all had to change.

Cutting Rug Pad

I cut the rug pad down to size. Much better already! Then I carried the dark brown coffee table and the dark stool to another room. The whole grouping moved down the room a little, and I repositioned the banana leaf footstool. Finally, I brought in a birch chair. The floor lamp stayed, since we’re happy with it and it doesn’t clash with anything.

The different pieces are now unified by materials in similar hues, and grouping the furniture this way works better.
