Fall Overnight

Most of the summer has been sunny, dry, and hot; we’ve had hardly any gray days and rain. In the last two days, however, the temperature dropped 15 degrees Celsius (25 degrees Fahrenheit). Yesterday it drizzled on and off; today it’s rain, rain, rain. At least the poor lawn will like it.

I’ve had to wear socks for the first time in three months. Not everything points to fall, however:

It’s delightful to note how many varieties of wild flowers there are in this area. We have blossoms all through the summer.

The good thing about fall is that it’s more comfortable to do hard labor like chopping and carrying firewood. I have flat out refused to do that in 90-degree weather. And I do love the bright maple colors; something to look forward to.
