Apple Picking

Our dear friends M and S came for a weekend visit from Connecticut. Since the weather was fine and the time ripe, we went apple picking. (Both M and I are, sadly, allergic to apples, but that doesn’t stop us from enjoying the fresh air and the picking itself.)

Our haul includes a good mix of apples for cidering and a pumpkin for carving:

The little pumpkin on our coffee table was turned into a delicious pumpkin cheese cake and replaced by a yellowing leaf from a silver vine (kultaköynnös) plant…

…and the carving pumpkin is waiting for its fate in the front hall:

We had a fantastic weekend, topped off by a night off on Sunday for Yours Truly. What a great way to gear up for a new week!
