Some Paper DIY Ornaments

December 21, 2010 § 1 Comment

We didn’t end up decorating much for Christmas. Mostly we rely on our tree, lots of candles, and Christmas foods to create the festive feeling. I did make a paper tree from a magazine (a la Martha Stewart). This year it gets to live on the mantle:

There’s a spritz of white spray paint on the magazine tree, otherwise it’s an au naturel issue of the New Yorker.

I also embellished my little candle glasses with white paper lanterns. We both remember making these in kindergarten:

There are several DIY ornaments that I admire on the Interwebs. For instance, these paper wreaths are neat:

I suspect I’m a little too impatient to make these toilet paper roll wreaths by Michele Pacey:

These simple accordion-style ornaments also caught my eye:

Both ornaments above were found via Funky Junk Interiors link party. (See also my previous posts on 5-pointed paper snowflakes, more DIY wreaths, and paper snowflakes and stars.)

Don’t know whether I’ll be posting again before the New Year, so in case I don’t:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Iloista joulua ja onnellista uutta vuotta!
