Poster Finds a Home

Happy New Year! How were your holidays? I hope you feel rested and energetic.
Mr. E and I had a memorable break, unfortunately just not entirely happy. There was a death in the family, and then a snowstorm interrupted our family visit. We still have our Christmas stuff up partly because of that, although partly it’s a custom. We seem to hang onto our ornaments a little longer than Americans. According to the Finnish calendar, Christmas ends on January 06, on the day of loppiainen. (Of course most people take down their ornaments and return to work or school before that, but the day remains on the calendar.)
Besides starting to take down our Christmas ornaments, I have also hung something. My “pink lady” poster has been lacking a home for a long time. I bought it at the Frick Museum some years back. Wherever I tried it, nothing quite seemed appropriate. Then I had a lightbulb:
The end of my wardrobe is the perfect size as a backdrop, and the image fits our bedroom calm. Mrs Frances Leyland has found a home.
