Yardwork Season Declared Open

April 30, 2011 § Leave a comment

The tug of war between rainy and nice weather seems to have ended for now, with nice weather winning. Mr. E has already been out to prune our fruit trees and weigh their branches, and we’ve raked the yard, but that’s been the extent of our yard work. Until this week. I started transplanting some of our wild flowers earlier this week.

Front Maple Apr 2011

I mentioned a while back that I’d like to use the local, wild plants for our flower beds. This is my first real, planned attempt. These common mulleins seem to enjoy the drier front yard, so I’m keeping them there, but grouping them around one of the maples. Later I’ll add other plants.
