Textile Design Goodness

June 1, 2011 § Leave a comment

Good grief, is it June already?! With spring and summer approaching, I always find myself looking at bright fabrics. This year’s no different.

Surely the most famous Finnish textile design effort is Marimekko. There’s plenty of talent, of course, outside that company as well. Päivi Makkonen (Finnish only, sorry!) is inspired by nature, its colors and mood. She combines ecology with innovation, pragmatism and aesthetics.

Below are some of her designs.
