Outdoor Space Inspiration

Besides thinking about the problems on our front and side yards, nothing much happened outside this summer. I didn’t even get to thinking about the back yard – I took pictures, but that’s it. Guess we were more drained after the spring than usual. That’s ok, though; we’re here to stay and can take our time with home projects. I’m already gathering some inspiration pictures for next year.

One very doable idea is to surround trees with a ring of plantings. Like this:
Found at Chez Larsson.
And this tree down the road from our house:
In the spring, it’s filled with lilies of the valley, and the scent is heavenly! Later, other flowers take over.
Eventually I’d like our feral front flowerbed to be as gorgeous. Might take a few years, though, to establish what I want.
Other nifty stuff: Matt’s work table:
Design*sponge’s DIY Best of: Outdoors has more nifty small-scale projects.
