“Family connections are always worth preserving.”

Much like the vain and pompous Sir Walter Elliot in Jane Austen’s Persuasion, I think highly of family, although for very different reasons.

We invited family over for a small get-together to celebrate our 10th anniversary. (We’re a little early. The anniversary isn’t till December, but summertime is so much nicer.) One of my sisters flew over from Finland last week. Later today, the rest of my family will arrive.

Over the weekend, Mr. E’s family will be joining mine at our backyard for a grillfest. It will be so good to have people together and to show my family our home and our life here, since we live so far apart.

It’s been 10 years. Wow.

Can’t wait what our next decade together will bring!

P.S. I’m taking the rest of the month off blogging. Enjoy July; see you in August!
