Family Visit Recap
August 16, 2012 § 1 Comment
It seems I have blogged about little else than my family’s visit to the U.S. lately. This is the last post, I promise. 🙂
In addition to our joint prep work, I made sure all the guest rooms were ready…
…and Mr. E did an enormous amount of work to keep everyone fed. We had a lot of local food, both in the sense of produced or harvested locally, and in the sense of local specialties (s’mores and lobster, for example). Foreign delicacies came mainly in the form of Finnish candy. Yum!
Mr. E even built a grilling stand for our back yard for our new grill (thanks again, dad – we just love it!). The stand is all drystone construction, so should we want to move or redo it, we can.
There was a lot of food and catching up, plus sun, swimming, croquet and other games of various sorts, running, cycling, restaurant visits, shopping, and exploring near-by towns and nature reserves. Thank you, everyone. It was simply fantastic, but also exhausting. (Everything worthwhile is, isn’t it, because of the effort you put in.) I may not be blogging quite as frequently this fall; we’ll see.
Now to enjoy a day off!
