A Front Hall Dilemma: Bench vs. Chair?

September 7, 2012 § 2 Comments

In our front hall, we have a bench for Mr. E and a chair for me (seen in a past post about front hall colors):

Mr. E’s bench is seen briefly in a family visit collage, now as a separate photo below:

No Shoes House

We are a “no shoes” house. When my family was visiting, it meant A LOT more shoes in the front hall!

Mr. E is happy with his arrangement, but I’ve been a little unhappy lately with mine. Leaving the house or coming home usually involves keys, bags, travel mugs, umbrellas, what have you. I feel that the lone chair isn’t enough to manage all of the paraphernalia in addition to my shoes, especially if there are laces to tie. I would like either a simple bench like Amie’s:

I’ve started looking, but haven’t found a definite winner yet. There are so many gorgeous choices that I’m feeling quite torn between the different styles!
