Special Dinner: December 2012

The last dinner of the year celebrated the return of the four Hobbits into the Shire. We had a boiled chicken dinner modeled on the Maine boiled dinners: a whole chicken plus cabbage, carrots, and potato, all coarsely chopped, boiled tender in a pot. As dessert we enjoyed an apple tart. Sweet hard cider went very nicely both with the dinner and dessert.
Since the inspiration was Hobbits again, I pulled out many of the same dishes and fabrics as before:
The setting was very simple, and we ate in candlelight.
